Aspen Painting

The Women’s group at our church had a Painting night last year so I went with a friend.  I wasn’t sure what the painting was going to be, but I figured it was a good way to spend some time with a friend.

Since this was the third Paint and Sip class I had been to I had an idea how it would go.

I am impressed with how my painting turned out, but it doesn’t really match my decorating style and I have run out of space to hang it!

So, this painting is going to be given to our daughter and she will hang it in her new place.

I think it is time to use some of the skills I learned to make smaller paintings, etc for my scrapbook, etc.

Do you like to paint?

Why I won’t talk about politics on my blog

So, it feels funny making a post about why I won’t talk about politics on my blog, but let me explain.  My husband and I were discussing the current state of politics in the United States.  As was seen during the last Presidential Election it appears that the population is divided three ways.

For example:

– 40 percent will lean Liberal

– 40 percent will lean Conservative

– 20 percent are in the middle since either a specific issue doesn’t really affect them or they will sway one way or the other depending upon the issue

So no matter what side someone takes about 40% of the population will be upset.

Oh, and I saw a great statement that someone posted when they were commenting on a company that was taking a political stand.  And I am paraphrasing since I don’t remember the exact words:

A company (or artist, etc) should work at being the best at what they do and stay out of politics since that is not their expertise.

Maybe I am wrong, but I think companies, etc that make a political statement are upsetting more people than swaying them to their side.

Next post will be back to one of my regular topics.

Do you agree that bloggers, artists, etc won’t change your political views?
